The Webb Schools: CREST (Cognitive Rehabilitation and Educational Skills Training)

The CREST program is a unique, multidisciplinary, special education program for adolescents who have a diagnosis within the psychotic spectrum.  Students who have been unable to profit from education, even within a highly structured academic setting, are referred by their school district.  The low stimulus environment is intensively staffed (approximately 2 to 1 programming ratio) to provide intensive support while maintaining students within a community atmosphere.
Hours: 8:30 AM - 2:15 PM (except 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM, 1st Thursday of each month)

Professionals support students and their families in understanding and compensating for symptoms of their illness.  CREST specifically addresses the emotional, cognitive, and motivational issues of the student with psychotic illness through:

  • Special education

  • Therapeutic intervention (individual, group, family support)

  • Psychiatric consultation/medication monitoring

  • Specific cognitive rehabilitation (as clinically indicated)

  • Occupational therapy (individual evaluation/group)

  • Motivational exercise

  • Vocational readiness and life skills

  • Family support and education

  • Individual evaluations, as needed

Program Day - while programs are individualized, a typical day may include:

8:30 - 9:00 AM Clinical-educational focus group
9:00 - 10:00 AM Motivational exercise group
10:00 - 10:45 AM Cognitive rehabilitation or academics
