The Assessment Center is located on the ground floor of the Donnelly Building and can be accessed 24 hours/day, seven days/week by calling:

Mission:

To provide a focused single-source entry point into the mental health care delivery system.  Experienced psychiatric nurses and clinicians collect, assess, and synthesize clinical, medical, psychosocial and other collateral data, to ensure that the patient is referred to the appropriate level of care.

 

Around-the-clock-telephone triage encompasses:

  • General information about the mental health network
  • Referral to acute inpatient care
  • Referral to ambulatory or specialty programs or services
  • Resource verification
  • Insurance pre-certification
  • Crisis intervention

 

Assessments by clinicians of individuals experiencing a psychiatric crisis are available in the Hartford Hospital Emergency Department 24 hours/day, seven days/week.

 

Assessment Center Staffing:

The Assessment Center clinical evaluation staff consists of APRN’s, licensed social workers, psychologists, and Bachelor-level RN’s.
