Schizophrenia Treatment Services: Schizophrenia Rehabilitation Program Overview

 

 

 

The Schizophrenia Rehabilitation Program provides highly specialized treatment and rehabilitation services for individuals with schizophrenia and related disorders. Neuropsychological rehabilitation techniques are utilized in a structured therapeutic environment. Our program enables patients to experience sequential successes leading to improved functioning in the community.

 

We emphasize:

  • Cognitive rehabilitation to improve attention, concentration, and memory, while improving motivation.
  • Vocational rehabilitation to develop the skills and obtain the experience needed to accomplish work or educational objectives.

Rehabilitation Approaches

  • Neuropsychological assessment
  • Attention and memory skills training
  • Motivation and initiative training
  • Skills classes for living more independently with schizophrenia
  • Vocational rehabilitation, including placement and support services
  • Psychiatric and medication assessment and treatment available
  • Support and education group for families
  • Small-group and individual training and therapy
  • Typical schedule: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., 3 days/week

Treatment Options

  • Prolonged Illness tracks for individuals with persistent disabilities.
  • Early Intervention track for individuals during the first years of illness.
  • Residential track for individuals requiring a long-term supported living situation.
